A WATERLOOVILLE artist scooped first prize in a national competition for her portrayal of Paralympic champion dressage rider Lee Pearson.

Stephanie Hobbs was inspired to produce the portrait after she met Lee at London 2012 event.

The picture beat hundreds of hopefuls to the top spot in a competition part of the BT Storytellers programme.

All entries were judged by Olympic legend Daley Thompson.

Stephanie won a digital camera and £100 of vouchers for her efforts. ‘I’m chuffed to bits’ she said.

In total, 100 people throughout Britain are taking part in the programme to record the story of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games through blogs, poems, art projects and many other platforms.
