A MOTORWAY was closed for more than three hours over fears a woman was going to harm herself.

The drama unfolded on the Scratchface Lane bridge, in Bedhampton, between 11.45pm on Thursday and 3am on Friday.

During that time the road below, the A3M, was closed and two vehicles collided. No one was injured in the accident.

The bridge was closed off while police spoke to the woman and paramedics were on standby.

She was eventually taken away by paramedics just after 3am and the road was reopened.
