A PIG has been taken in by an animal shelter after being found dumped at a riding stables.

Staff at the Stubbington Ark in Ranvilles Lane, Stubbington think the kune kune pig, dubbed Hermione, was originally brought as a trendy micro-pig but outgrew her owners.

Lucy Fry, head wildlife at the shelter, said: ‘We estimate her age at a few months old.

‘She has already become a favourite with the staff as she is very cute and likes lots of attention.

‘She rolls over for a tummy tickle and even sits for treats. She definitely needs companionship and we would like to rehome her to someone who already owns a pig or two.’
