DOZENS of thrillseekers will be abseiling down the Spinnaker Tower next week.

About 100 people are set to take on the challenge, in what will be the first time the public has been given the chance to abseil down the tower.

Many will be taking on the descent for charity, while others will be doing it as a personal challenge.

And for anymore daredevils out there, there are still spaces left to soar the 170m national icon.

Paul Mahy, commercial manager at the tower said: ‘We’ve held abseil events for charities before, but this is the very first time we’ve opened it up to the general public.

‘We’ve been listening to our visitors and increasingly many of them have been telling us they would love the opportunity to abseil down the tower.’

Abseils will start on Monday and finish on Sunday, August 14, They will take place from 9am to 6pm, with 20 minute intervals.

Places cost £75 each and abseilers must be over 18.

Places can be pre-booked by calling (023) 9285 7520.
