THERE’S plenty of creative flair at an art class for youngsters.

Children are allowed to let their artistic talents shine at an afterschool club at Aspex Gallery at Gunwharf Quays.

The workshops are led by Emma Noble, an artist from Portsmouth, who allows children from eight to 11 years old to get messy in the gallery.

The classes use the exhibitions at the gallery as their inspiration.

Vicky Chapter, participation and learning manager at Aspex, said: ‘They are particularly good for children who have a real interest in art.

‘It’s an opportunity for them to come together outside school and learn more techniques and produce their own artwork.

‘It’s something they might not have the opportunity to do in school.’

The workshops take place on Wednesdays from 4pm to 5.30pm.

Call (023) 9277 8080 or email vicky@aspex.org.uk to book.

Ms Chapter added: ‘They have a great time. We would like to up the numbers if possible.’
