VOLUNTEERS are putting the finishing touches to a town’s grotto.

Waterlooville’s Santa’s Grotto will be opened by the Mayor of Havant borough, Councillor Leah Turner, at 10am on Saturday, December 12.

The grotto is the last event organised by Waterlooville Events Team for 2015.

The log cabin is being built by Waterlooville Men’s Shed.

Chloe Wadsworth, from the events team, said: ‘For just £2 per child, or £5 for three children, you will receive a visit with Santa, a tour of the grotto, a wrapped gift and a chocolate.

‘The grotto is set up and run by our group of amazing volunteers who have generously agreed to give up their time to make the grotto a truly special experience for our local children.’

The grotto will be at Waterlooville Library.

It will be open until 2pm on the Saturday.

It will be open from December 14 until December 18 from 10am to midday and on December 19 from 10am to 2pm. From December 21 until December 24 it opens from 10am to 2pm.
