A-level student Jessica Whitbourn has been selected to compete in the world and European championships for baton twirling.

The 17-year-old, of Paulsgrove, Portsmouth, will be representing England in the world championships.

The competitions start in July, and Jessica is on a mission to raise £400 to cover her costs and compete.

She said: ‘We practise every weekend for six hours and I would love for us to reach the finals.’
