TODDLERS at a nursery in Leigh Park will be safer out and about thanks to a donation of 50 high-visibility jackets.

The Southern Co-operative donated the fluorescent jackets to Dunsbury Way Nursery. It came after the firm’s Funeralcare branch in Leigh Park was approached by the nursery for help.

Jackie Davis, who works at Dunsbury Way Nursery, said: ‘We are a charity-run nursery that appreciates help fromcharitable organizations. The hi-vis vest jackets will be an added security when taking the children on outings and people can instantly see that we are a group.’

Janis Williamson, Co-operative Funeralcare sector manager, said: ‘The Southern Co-operative is keen to support local communities and this donation has been one way that we can directly help.

‘The children were eager to try on their new jackets and I hope they will prove to be really useful when they’re out and about!’
