A FREE park and ride is being introduced for the first time to ease congestion at one of the area’s biggest annual events this summer.

The Emsworth Show takes place at Jubilee Recreation Ground, in Horndean Road, on August Bank Holiday Monday.

All public parking should now go to the New Life Church in Thorney Road, where buses will be operating a free shuttle service to the show.

Janet Butler, show secretary, said: ‘Parking is free, and so is the bus trip to the show.

‘Our aim is to reduce disruption for the people of Emsworth, while continuing to host the best little show on the south coast.’

The main arena events include The Stallions of Substance where the Murray sisters will be exhibiting the extraordinary horsemanship skills they have honed since childhood.

There will also be falconry and ferret displays, as well as a dog agility show.

In the small arena, there will be the ever-popular dog show, dancing, and music entertainment.

There will be more than 240 classes of flower, fruit, vegetable, handicrafts and cookery.

The show runs from 10.30am to 5pm, with the marquee opening at 1pm.
