A motorbike ride in aid of the Mary Rose Academy in Southsea will take place tomorrow.

The South Coast Bikers and other riders will meet at Wickham Square at midday, leaving about half an hour later to travel along Portsdown Hill and Eastern Road before arriving at the school for 1.15pm.

There is no fee to take part but donations of Easter eggs or money will be presented to the school’s headteacher Alison Beane.

Event co-ordinator Darren Preston said ‘This is a great event, which has been running for almost 10 years.

‘It would be nice to beat last year’s turnout of 250 bikes.’
