This year’s Denmead Village Show was a soaraway success.

There was something for everyone – whether it be holding a bird of prey, looking at vintage bicycles or exploring the 500 or so exhibits in the horticultural show.

For years the event was held at The Lawns, but this year moved to All Saints’ church hall and its grounds.

Show secretary Mary Weston said: ‘It went exceedingly well and we had a lovely sunny day.’

The trophy winners in the horticultural show were Barry Moore, Allan Chivers, Gordon Hoare, P Prestwich, Rosemary Bell, Jean Buckle, Ruth Wright, Pat MacNee, R Weston, Margaret Dickson, Dawn Lee, Adele Mallows, Adrian Bell, Anne Huckin, Julia Dickson, Ruth Moore, Lynda Glenister, Ivan Chance, Dave Hill, R Moore, Michael Reed, Susan Stride and Diane Price.

The winners in the children’s classes were Daisy Lee, Lily Hosseini-Ashaafi, Mozhgan Hosseini-Ashaafi and Matthew Bradley.
