CHEF Sven-Hanson Britt has been pipped at the post in the MasterChef: The Professionals finals.

The 26-year-old, who once worked as a plate washer at Banks Bar Bistro in Bishop’s Waltham, says the experience has given him the chance to evaluate what he wants to do with his career in the future.

On tonight’s programme, Sven went head-to-head with two other chefs in a three hour, three course meal contest.

His menu was centred around items found in his allotment.

And despite impressing the judges, he was beaten by Jamie Scott.

On the show, he said: ‘I just needed someone to open the box and let me out.

‘These three dishes I am cooking, I want them to show how much I have been uplifted; how I have progressed as a person and as a chef.’
