THOUSANDS of people are expected at one of the area’s biggest firework displays.

Havant Borough Council’s annual event, on Stockheath Common, Leigh Park, is being held on Monday.

The Mayor of Havant, Councillor Gerald Shimbart, will light the giant bonfire at 7.30pm.

There will be a funfair between 4pm and 8pm.

Refreshments, including hot dogs and candy floss, will also be on sale at the alcohol-free event.
