LETTER OF THE DAY: Stunned by price of rail ticket

Have your say

THERE were some sore feet among the members of the South East Battalion Boys Brigade.

Together they hiked 15 miles around Thorney Island and Chidham peninsular near Emsworth.

Dave Jupp, the Battalion secretary, said: ‘It was a great day.

‘All the boys enjoyed it but I suspect they probably had very sore feet. None of them complained.

‘The first group set off from the New Life Church on Thorney at 9.30am and were back in Prinsted at 12.30pm but we picked up another 10 more on the way to complete the Chidham route and didn’t get back to 4.15pm. ’

The companies that took part were 1st Wymering, 1st Fareham, 4th Portsmouth and 1st Waterlooville. So far the boys have raised around £1,000 for Asthma UK but they expect to raise even more.
