BULKY bodies are getting ready to pose, flex and stretch on stage at Portsmouth Guildhall.

The venue will host the South Coast Bodybuilding Show on Sunday, April 26.

Organiser Paul Smith said he expected about 200 bodybuilders would take part in the event which is being run for the 12th time this year.

The 42-year-old from Waterlooville said the competition included 26 different divisions, from junior bikini and physique categories to masters bodybuilding classes.

‘In the bodybuilding section they do a series of set poses.

‘At the end they have 60 seconds to do their own routine, which can be anything they like.

‘It can be very entertaining to watch.’

Competitor registrations start at 9am and doors open to the public at midday.

Winners will be able to compete in the United Kingdom Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation’s national championships in Nottingham in October.

Tickets are £20 and children under 16 go free.
