THREE initiatives have been launched by a bus company.

Stagecoach South celebrated World Environment Day with three schemes involving schools and West Sussex County Council.

Green Week sees Stagecoach companies across the UK run competitions, events and activities.

One of the company’s three new initiatives in the south was a ‘green’ competition in schools.

The competition encourages students to collect green stickers for the chance to win a bus for their school for the day.

Secondly, the company offered its Gold bus and driver to take Bersted students from Year 6 on their end-of-year school trip.

Lastly, it launched an independent travel program with West Sussex County Council which is being
trialled in 10 schools across the county.

The company is preparing to roll out Termrider, a termly ticket for pupils aged five to 16 designed to make travel easier and more convenient for both them and their parents.
