SAILORS and pirates are set to descend on Portsmouth to hold people to ransom in aid of a children’s charity.

They will arrive in Portsmouth to capture a group of business and community figures who have volunteered to take part in the event on board HMS Warrior on Thursday, May 23.

The captives’ challenge will be to secure their release by raising at least £750 for Action For Children while armed with a mobile phone, laptop and list of business contacts and colleagues.

Money raised will support Action For Children’s work with vulnerable and neglected children in Hampshire.

Lauren Fitzgerald, Action For Children’s fundraiser for Hampshire, said: ‘It’s a chance for local businesses and others from the community to raise vital funds for vulnerable children and young people in Hampshire, helping to transform lives at the same time as networking in an atmospheric historic setting.’
