The entries have been coming in already and now we’re urging more of you to nominate your favourite cafe.
Whether it’s your local which sells the best fry up in the area, or if it’s a cafe you will drive to for a taste of their fantastic milkshakes, we want to know which cafe gets it right and why it should be named the best.
It could be the perfect fried egg with runny yolk or the quality of the pork sausages.
Or maybe it’s the lovely carrot cake that tastes just perfect with a nice cup of tea.
Or is it the friendly staff who keep drawing you back in with their welcoming personalities and their tasty cheese and ham toasties?
To nominate a cafe, just fill out the form on this page and send it back to us.
Nominated cafes will go through to the voting round — we’ll publish these on Thursday, August 7.
Once voting has closed and the votes counted, we’ll announce who the lucky cafe is and present them with a trophy.
Editor Mark Waldron said: ‘Cafes are another vital part of our area and our community and it wouldn’t be the same without them.
‘We want to show support to our local businesses and we want to know why you think they’re so great.
‘We’ve already had some entries coming in but there’s still plenty of time to nominate your favourite.
‘Make sure you don’t miss your chance to get your nominations in.’
Nominations need to be submitted by 10am on Monday, July 28, 2014.
Nominated cafes have to have a seated area for diners.
They must be open during breakfast and lunchtime.
