PLEDGES are still needed to complete on the purchase of a community pub.

The people behind the bid to save the Fox and Hounds, in Denmead, from developers say £12,000 is still outstanding.

Director Rob Stark said: ‘Unfortunately we are still fighting to get all the money together.

‘Luckily our beneficial lender has given us a little more time to raise it. We are still applying for grants and we believe we have found someone to give us a loan.

‘A number of our investors have increased the size of their investments and we have received a few additional pledges – one of which was substantial.

‘There are a few people who have yet to send in their money to cover the pledges made at the end of last year – about £12,000.’
