PENSIONER Richard Field is desperately trying to find the rightful owner of a birthday card sent to him by mistake.

The 88-year-old received the card, addressed to Jacob Crook, last month and his attempts to trace the birthday boy have proved fruitless.

He asked neighbours in Hunters Ride, Waterlooville, and after being met with blank faces he opened it to find it enclosed a sum of money.

There was no response to an appeal on a radio station in Norwich, where the card was postmarked.

Mr Field said: ‘The card reads “Have a lovely birthday, love Grandma and Grandad”. It breaks my heart to think that their grandson won’t get this.’

If you are Jacob Crook, have identification, and after talking to your grandparents can tell Mr Field how much is in the card, he will be happy to hand it over. Call Mr Field on (023) 9226 2876 if you can help.
