CANDLES were lit in memory of loved ones at a poignant church remembrance service.

A Light Up a Life service in aid of Naomi House and Jacksplace hospices for young people was held at Holy Trinity Church, in West Street, Fareham last night.

Naomi House fundraiser Mary Ramsay said it was a moving occasion. She said: ‘It gave people the opportunity to remember a family member who perhaps is no longer with us. It may have been this year, or in previous years. It helps to bring a bit of comfort to them that the candles are lit and that it gives them the opportunity to remember someone.’

The service saw performances from Wellstead Primary School and the Western Wards Community Choir.
