SCHOOLCHILDREN will sing and church members will do readings at a town’s Christmas carol service.

Horndean Parish Council has organised the event at the Memorial Square, at 7pm on December 9.

Music will be provided by Blendworth Brass Band, children from local schools will be performing carols and there will be readings from representatives of the local churches.

The chosen charity for this year’s collection is Great Ormond Street Hospital.

A spokesman for the council said: ‘We welcome both residents and visitors to this community event and invite you to join us in celebrating Christmas.’
