More than 300 people gathered around the square in the centre of the town for what was a great evening.

Pamela Blake, from Horndean Parish Council, said: ‘It was just lovely. The weather didn’t stop anyone coming out to enjoy being together.

‘The band stoically played on wearing their Christmas hats and everyone sang loudly which kept them nice and warm.’

The event raised £321 for The Rowans Hospice.
