ONE of the area’s most exciting Christmas grottos opens this weekend.

Champion fundraiser Julie Scarborough has transformed her bungalow, in Widley, into a winter wonderland.

Each year she opens her home in aid of a charity and, with a team of volunteers, provides children with a fantastic day out meeting Father Christmas and his reindeers.

For just the small entrance fee of £1.50 every child gets a gift and refreshments.

This year the charity to benefit will be Naomi House Children’s Hospice, near Winchester.

There will also be a wide-ranging sale with lots of items, and a tombola.

The first event is on Saturday and is followed by dates on December 1 and 8.
