CHARLIE Lodge can look forward to a year of being treated like royalty after being chosen as a carnival queen.

The 15-year-old has won the crown as this year’s Titchfield Carnival.

She was chosen from five contestants at the carnival’s royalty selection evening organised by Titchfield Bonfire Boys Society.

The event was held at the Parish Rooms in the village.

Emma Allen-Jones and Lucie Newbury were selected as carnival attendants.

Society chairwoman Ann Whyntie said: ‘All the girls answered the questions really well and it was a great evening all round.’

Charlie’s year officially starts from when she is crowned at start of the annual carnival on October 28. There will be two processions, starting in The Square at 3pm and 6.30pm.
