GOSPORT author Zella Compton will sign copies of her debut novel next week.
The children’s author has had her first book produced by publishing company Mogzilla.
The story follows the life of a young boy called Adam, who discovers he can ‘skim’ people’s minds and read their emotions and thoughts.
But he falls foul of a mysterious group of individuals called The Board, who monitor those with the talent.
Zella, who is also a columnist for The News, said: ‘I wrote it about five years ago and put it in a drawer but then I read it again and decided to send it off. I cried when I held the first copy in my hand.
‘It’s been a great learning experience.’
The book is interspersed by illustrations by artist Jess Swainson.
The first book signing takes place at Waterstones in Fareham on Saturday from 11am until 1pm.
Then she will appear at The Book Shop in High Street, Lee-on-the-Solent on October 20 from 11am until 1pm.
Another signing will be held at Waterstones in Commercial Road, Portsmouth, on October 29 from 12pm until 1.30pm.
