A JOCKEY of a very different kind was at Goodwood to entertain crowds, who stopped on after the racing.

As soon as the evening meeting finished, Radio 2 DJ and One Show presenter Chris Evans took to the decks as the parade ring and winners enclosure were transformed into an open air disco.

Hundreds of hardy folk braved the rain to dance on a special floor laid on top of the grass and lights and lasers lit up the night sky during the performance.

‘Are you wet?’ Asked Evans, who was wearing a big, cream cap and wide collared shirt and coat, as he stayed dry under a large canopy.

‘Do you care? Let’s party Goodwood,’ he said as he launched into a non-stop selection of hits from Don’t Stop Me Now to Sweet Home Alabama and Brown Sugar.

This was the second of three similar nights at Goodwood, with Boy George performing last week and Mark Ronson set to be a sell-out on June 17.
