HAYLING songwriter Steve Harrington is hoping to bring some of the fun back to Christmas music with a new upbeat song.

The 52-year-old is today releasing his single Christmas Once A Year – a track he says he wrote in just 15 minutes at his local pub, The Olive Leaf, on Hayling.

The track is set to be played today on Express FM.

Mr Harrington, of Creek Road, who normally writes rock songs, said: ‘It’s exactly what you would have bought when Wizzard and Slade were around. I am actually getting a lot of good feedback from the student fraternity. They like cheese!’
