THE mayor of Havant will turn the Christmas lights on in Emsworth this year.

Emsworth Business Association, which is organising the event, promises it will be bigger than ever before.

It is supported by Emsworth residents and community associations and will take place in St Peter’s Square on Friday, November 29.

The surrounding roads will be closed. There will be a short service by the Rev Simon Sayers followed by a carol service.

Santa’s grotto will be in the Emsworth Centre, and the bottom end of South Street will be a Christmas fair.
