CREATIVE youngsters brought sea creatures to life during a nautical family workshop.

Families attended the Socktopus! workshop at the National Museum of the Royal Navy in Portsmouth Historic Dockyard and designed eye-catching puppets.

The event followed the Seven Seas Adventure Club in the summer, where intrepid explorers discovered classical tales - from Jason and the Argonauts to Gulliver’s Travels - and made keepsakes inspired by sea adventures.

A sticker was awarded to the children for each book discovered and those who collected four were entered into a prize draw.

Winners were invited back to the museum to collect their prizes on Wednesday.

Claire Jordan, museum learning officer, said: ‘The Seven Seas Adventure Club was great fun.

‘We are delighted to welcome some of them back to receive their prizes.’
