POETRY is more than just words, it’s therapeutic and helps to build your confidence, according to the members of Stubbington Library’s poetry club.

The group meets once a month on a Thursday between 2pm and 3pm.

People are invited to either read poems or to write them around a theme.

Member Sue Weston, from Fareham, said: ‘It inspires people to read more broadly as they have a subject to focus on. People get confidence from reading poems.

‘They can share ideas at the club.

‘Poetry is therapeutic. It helps to get stuff off your chest and helps you become more creative.’

The next meeting is on Thursday, February 21.
