THIS WEEK IN 1994: Workers ferret out dust bin weasel

Have your say

A GROUP of travellers have moved to their fourth camp in three days.

The eight strong group set up camp in the middle of a housing estate off Forest Way, Gosport, earlier this week.

Gosport Borough Council began eviction proceedings and the group moved to Stubbington recreation ground on Friday.

By Saturday morning they had moved on to Paddock Green but stayed for only a few hours after Fareham Borough Council brought in bailiffs to move them on.

They left without incident at 3pm. By late afternoon they had met up with another group at a playing field close to Newgate Lane, Fareham.

The council is expected to serve another notice to leave on Sunday.
