THERE were cows, cows and more cows dotted throughout a woodland.

Queens Inclosure woodland, in Cowplain, hosted the annual Cow Trail for families and nature lovers last weekend.

There were scores of life-sized bovines scattered throughout the wood from all eras – Vikings, Tudors and medieval cows to name but a few.

Clair Martin, from Caterpillar Crafts, helped organise the event with St Wilfrid’s Church and Westbrook Community Centre.

She said: ‘We had a wonderful day on Saturday.

‘As well as the cows we made time capsules and the children went off round the wood collecting items to put in them.

‘They will all be opened at next year’s event.’
