SHOPPERS in Southsea enjoyed a day of floral fun at a quirky new flower-themed festival.
Traders in Albert Road hosted the first ever Daisy Chain Festival on Sunday.
The event was held to boost trade and celebrate the road’s community spirit.
Trees and shop windows were decorated with flowers while a number of exhibitions and performances took place along the street.
Organiser Hannah Kerley, 21, of Cottage Grove, Southsea, said: ‘It went really well.
‘It was a bit cold and windy but we made the most of it and had a really good time.
‘I was running around like a headless chicken trying to keep everyone organised most of the time but I had fun. The idea was to get people using Albert Road and using the shops that are down there.
‘It’s a great little road and people don’t use it enough.’
Students from the University of Portsmouth took part in a fashion showcase at Garbos hairdressers and Charmaine Florist held a flower-arranging master class.
