NIGHTCLUB Tiger Tiger is used to pumping beats and ladies in lycra– but this time it was for something a little different.

The Gunwharf Quays club hosted the launch of The Rowans Hospice first annual Dance-a-thon.

It is a six-hour session where everyone gets to do half a dozen different styles of dance to raise money for the Purbrook hospice.

Teams of between two and 10 people can sign up to boogie their way around Portsmouth Guildhall on Saturday, November 10, from 6pm.

Ali Corbett, events fundraiser for The Rowans, said: ‘If you’re in a team you will be able to tag in and out, dancing and resting in relay, cheering each other on.

‘And it doesn’t matter if you’re a beginner or dancing queen, everyone will be able to join in and follow the instructors.’

It costs more than £4m annually to run the hospice.

Registration is £10 per person and participants have a target to raise £100 in sponsorship.

The Dance-a-thon is open to anyone aged 16 years and over.

To enter go to rowanshospice.co.uk or call (023) 9225 0001.
