IT was truly stomach-churning and made you want to cover your eyes in horror.
Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden was not alone as she covered her mouth in disbelief as she watched daredevil Ian Brown plunge a sword down his throat.
And for the squeamish it got even worse.
The 30-year-old, who hails from Fareham and whose stage name is El Lurchio, provoked screams in the audience at The London Palladium as he swallowed a sword and then began to drag a cart carrying six people – including Ant and Dec – around the stage.
But despite making the judges turn away, Ian managed to win them over and was put through to the next round of the contest.
Amanda, who is originally from Bishop’s Waltham, told Ian: ‘It’s like watching a horror show isn’t it?
‘You carry on watching because you like being terrified.’
Ian was featured in The News last year after swallowing two curved cutlasses at Ferneham Hall, Fareham, during travelling show Circus of Horrors.
His time of 13 seconds was the longest ever recorded.
Ian, who is a house husband, told The News: ‘I wanted to see what kind of reaction I got from the audience.
‘They were surprisingly wowed.
‘It was pretty mental when the audience started cheering. I was really surprised when Simon Cowell said yes.’
