AN action-packed day of demonstrations, live music and competitions will be held to mark the opening of a skate park.

Fareham Borough Council is unveiling the facilities at Park Lane Recreation Ground and is encouraging people to come along.

Skate Park Jam takes place on Saturday between 11am and 4pm.

Skaters, BMX and scooter riders and bladers are welcome to participate but anyone doing so must wear a helmet.

Free coaching and tuition will be provided by JDP Workshops.

All coaches are CRB checked and equipment, including helmets, boards and protective wear, will be available to use for free.

Refreshments will also be available.

Event spaces are limited so it is recommend that anyone interested in attending signs up at the earliest opportunity from 11am on the day.
