A CARING six-year-old is all smiles after she cut her 3ft-long hair and donated it to charity to help other little girls.

Dixie-May Heiford, from Wallington Court, Fareham, donated her long locks to the Little Princess Trust, which makes wigs for children undergoing chemotherapy treatment for cancer.

She had her first hair cut at Headmasters salon in Fareham.

Her dad, Mark Heiford, 45, said: ‘She looks a bit different now, definitely more grown-up. Her mother was more anxious than she was.

‘She will be like a new girl when she goes back to school in September.’

Dixie-May is going into Year 2 at Redlands Lane primary school in the new term.
