PORTSMOUTH City Council’s stray dog kennels will receive a welcome cash boost thanks to a Great South Run participant.

Emma Fuller, 23, of Anchorage Park, Portsmouth finished last Sunday’s ten-mile race in 1 hour 55 minutes and raised £350 in the process.

She will now contact the kennels – based at Great Salterns Farm, Burrfields Road – and see what to do with it.

She hopes to buy new items for the dogs, such as collars and beds.

Emma, who is a volunteer dog walker, said: ‘It was hard work.’
