A DONATION from the Meon Valley Lions Club has set hearts racing with its gift to a new doctor’s surgery.

The club has given an ECG machine, which is used to measure the electrical activity of the heart, to the Wickham Surgery, which has recently moved to a new location in Houghton Way in Wickham.

Club members attended an open-day hosted by practice manager Sharon Warren and her team, where they were able to see the new kit take pride of place in the new building.

The Lions have raised more than £5,000 for good causes so far during this year’s summer season by attending a host of events and cooking a whopping 3,500 sausages and burgers.
