THE Duchess of Cambridge has arrived at the Spinnaker Tower for a reception.

Kate Middleton has been to see the Ben Ainslie Race base at the headquarters of the 1851 trust in the Camber Dock, Old Portsmouth.

People gathered at the Spinnaker Tower in their hundreds to see the Duchess arrive by police escort. She was welcomed by floral gifts and stopped to greet the crowds.

The Duchess and Sir Ben Ainslie will meet community leaders, and ambassadors including teachers and students from City College, Southampton, who are building two specialist ‘Docking Rib’ boats to help with docking the America’s Cup boats in Portsmouth.

Her Royal Highness will also see a display of activities and exhibits in the tower’s viewing platform, destined for display in the 1851 Trust Visitor Centre.
