THESE smiling youngsters got their hands on chocolate treats after an Easter egg hunt with a difference.

Around 800 people took part in a water-themed egg hunt at Holly Hill Woodland Park to play water games and solve clues in place of a traditional treasure hunt.

Youngsters dressed up as octupuses and mermaids to take part in the event on Saturday.

Several parts of the park were transformed into magical underwater scenes for children to play in.

Fareham Borough Council’s horticultural development officer, Matt Wakefield, said: ‘We had octopuses, mermaids and pirates.

‘We have a number of different bases and at each location there would be a different theme.

‘We couldn’t have done it without the volunteers on the day.’
