A CHARITY that provides emergency doctors at the scene of accidents is in urgent need of medical help itself.

Basics Hampshire is holding its annual show on Castle Field, Southsea, on Sunday and Monday but needs an ambulance crew to help carry out demonstrations to the public.

South Central Ambulance Service has told the charity it can not provide a crew this year because the available ones are all booked out to do other shows.

The crew would need to work with the fire service on a number of scenarios, including extricating a crash victim from a car.

Lynne Caine, the fundraiser for Basics, said: ‘We’ve tried everywhere, even going to private ambulance firms to see if they can help but they are very, very expensive.’

If you are a paramedic and can help Basics Hampshire, contact Mrs Caine on (023) 9234 3709.
