BUTTERSCOTCH the mechanical pony is just one of the 250 weird and wonderful lots available at a church auction.

It has been donated by a generous member of the public to help raise funds for the parish of Warblington-with-Emsworth.

The auction is tomorrow in the parish hall of St James’ Church, Emsworth, from 2pm.

Other items include a ship’s wheel, a miniature Welsh dresser, interesting stamps and first-day covers, china and glass and furniture.

Organiser Hilary Bolt, pictured above, said: ‘We usually get some really interesting bits and pieces. Everything is donated by people and businesses in the parish, from a set of long matches in a mini coal-scuttle to vouchers for hair cuts, gifts and sausages.’

Viewing starts at 11am. Entry is £1.

Call Mrs Bolt on 07717 510294.
