THE ‘Last Night of the Proms’ is coming to a Fareham church to help raise money for its clock and tower restoration appeal.

Holy Trinity Church in West Street, Fareham will be hosting its own Last Night of the Proms on Saturday, October 3.

The Littlehampton Concert Band will perform popular classics and patriotic pieces like Elgar’s Pomp and Circumstance March with Land of Hope and Glory.

The atmosphere will be informal, and the church will be transformed with balloons, bunting and flags to wave.

The Rev Sally Davenport, rector of Holy Trinity, said: ‘The Last Night of the Proms will be great fun for all the family.

‘Restoration work is going well and should be complete by the end of the year.

‘We shall soon be turning our attention to refurbishment inside. We have been amazed at the generous support of our community.’

The concert starts at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £8.50, and are available from 01329 232688.
