A HUSBAND and wife have become priests-in-charge on a joint basis of St Mary’s Church in Warsash.

Last night, the Rev Mike Terry and his wife, the Rev Nicky-Sue Terry, jointly took over the position.

They were given the responsibility at a service conducted by the bishop of Portsmouth, Christopher Foster, on Monday evening.

Until their licensing, St Mary’s churchwardens assumed the legal responsibilities of the vicar and were supported by the licensed readers and retired clergy.

The couple live in Fareham.
