The Mayor of Fareham Cllr Susan Bayford presented a new trophy to the festivities, which was won by the 2nd Fareham Sea Scouts.

Nicholas How, from Fareham Sailing and Motorboat Club, which organised the weekend event, said: ‘It was brilliant. The new cup is a beautiful trophy with the crest of the club and the town on it, that will be raced for every year.

‘The regatta itself is really still quite new but we are getting other clubs involved and interested. We are hoping it will grow in to a bigger event.’

The Fareham Yellow ladies’ team also won their race, as well as the Fareham Yellow men’s team.
