SCHOOLS across Fareham are being offered a framed portrait of The Queen to mark her Diamond Jubilee.

Fareham Borough Council has previously given each primary school-aged child across the borough a commemorative mug during jubilee years.

But council leader, Cllr Sean Woodward said: ‘In this age of tremendous austerity we didn’t think that would be appropriate. This way we can do something for schools that costs hundreds instead of thousands.’
