The Elizabeth Foundation helped Max with his speech after birth back in 2009.

By the age of three Max had improved greatly during his treatment and was off to school like many others.

Now seven years old, Max is a bright and bubbly boy who will be taking part in the Junior South Run.

Max, who was in Cosham today to see the pair, said: ‘I am very thankful for the Elizabeth Foundation and I am very excited to run tomorrow.’

The family have already raised £1,400 surpassing their target of £1,000.

The family hope to raise double by the end of weekend as they all prepare for the Great South Run.

A Elizabeth Foundation staff added: ‘We are greatly thankful for the Uttley family and the work they have put into fundraising for the Elizabeth Foundation.’
