SOME of Sussex’s finest food producers will be showcasing their delectable delights at a huge food fare in Chichester.

The city’s sixth Local Food Fare takes place from Friday, August 30 to Sunday, September 1.

It will celebrate local food and give people the chance to find out about the fantastic produce that can be found on their doorstep.

More than 50 local traders will be based in North Street and East Street.

Visitors will be able to choose from a range of specialist cheeses, seasonal locally-grown vegetables and fruit, reared meat and caught game, and a wide range of handmade foods.

Local farmers will also be selling plants and flowers.

Councillor John Connor, who sits on the ruling cabinet at Chichester District Council, said: ‘This area offers some of the finest local produce in the country and so the Food Fare gives us the chance to make people aware of what is available on their doorsteps.’

Opening times are 9am to 5pm on Friday and Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sunday.
